We had a wonderful stay at this cabin near Durango. The location was beautiful and peaceful, surrounded by nature and the perfect place to relax and disconnect for a few days. The cabin itself was cozy, comfortable, and had everything we needed. We especially enjoyed the outdoor space and the gas fire pit in the evenings — it really added to the experience and made the stay feel special.

Cottage on the Creek
This little cabin by a pond and tiny river ticks all the boxes. Clean, well maintained and quiet. The fenced in sport court (pickle ball and basketball) is a nice bonus. Sports equipment included. The rental team was very responsive throughout. They even immediately responded to an email over the holiday weekend. Everything was as advertised but nobody mentioned the billion stars you can see at night. Wow.

The surrounding property is beautiful and I feel very safe walking around the property alone. The studio is small, but nice. The bed and sofa bed were super comfortable. I even checked the brand of mattress to consider for my next purchase. I would stay again at this property.

Where the One-Bedrooms Are
Five of the thirteen are Tamarron condos between Durango and Purgatory: The Nook (750 sq ft, sleeps four, most reviewed condo in this set), Mountain Pearl (490 sq ft studio with golf-course views), Pinecone (586 sq ft, sleeps six, free ski-season shuttle), Elevated Escape and Summit Loft. The ski-base one-bedroom is Eolus 522 — ski-in, ski-out at Purgatory with a building pool and two hot tubs.
The cabins and homes sit closer to town and the valley. Big Barn is 2,000 square feet on 35 acres with Lemon Lake views and takes two dogs. Cottage on the Creek is an air-conditioned Animas Valley guest house on Coon Creek. Creekside Valley View Guesthouse is ten minutes from downtown with red-cliff views. Rio Cabana is on the Florida River with a fenced pet area. Tall Pines Casita, Edgemont Ridge Retreat and Curry Barn Extension round out the homes. Condo at Tamarron or Cabin Near Town?
The one-bedroom split is location first. Tamarron puts you on US-550 with resort pools, hot tubs and a ski shuttle on Pinecone — see Tamarron vacation rentals and the condo-only studio vacation rentals page. Eolus 522 is the only one-bedroom on the ski hill itself.
Cabins and casitas trade resort amenities for yards, water and dogs. Six of thirteen one-bedrooms are pet friendly; pets are $25 per night each, capped at $200 per dog, up to two dogs.
