Every condo we rent at the resort is ski-in, ski-out, so the lifts are a walk from your door rather than a drive. They run from a one-bedroom that sleeps six to a three-bedroom with a garage and a wood-burning fireplace, all with mountain views and all within reach of Purgatory Village on foot. Resort pool and hot tub access comes with the condo, though some units carry a 4% resort fee for it. Filter by bedrooms and amenities below.
What Guests Say About Our Purgatory Condos
What Comes With a Purgatory Condo
-
Ski In, Ski Out Every condo on this page is ski-in, ski-out, so you click in at the building rather than parking at the base. -
A View From Every Unit All of these condos look out at the San Juans, which is not something the lower-elevation rentals can offer. -
Pool and Hot Tub at the Village Resort pool and hot tub access comes with the condo, and one building adds a dry sauna and a wet sauna. -
A Fireplace in Every Condo Wood-burning in some and gas in others, but you will not be booking one without a fire to come back to. -
Self Check-In, No Front Desk You go straight to the condo and let yourself in with a door code instead of stopping at a desk first. -
Parking Is Included Free parking comes with every unit, and several have a garage so the car stays out of the snow.
Which Purgatory Condo to Book
The condos at the resort are close enough together that the choice comes down to size, laundry and what is in the building rather than location. Eolus 522 is the smallest, a one-bedroom that still sleeps six, with a gas fireplace and one parking space assigned to the unit. Angel Haus #117 is a two-bedroom that sleeps eight in 800 square feet, with a grill and a patio, and it uses a shared coin-operated laundry in the building rather than an in-unit washer.
Mountain Gem is the best-reviewed of the group at 5.0 across 21 stays. It is a single-level two-bedroom, 1,200 square feet, with a wood-burning fireplace, a garage and its own washer and dryer, which makes it the easy pick if stairs are a problem. Last Run is a two-bedroom of about the same size with the most going on in the building: a hot tub on the roof, a dry sauna and a wet sauna, a garage and an EV charger.
Edelweiss 8 is the largest, a three-bedroom, three-bath at 1,800 square feet that sleeps eight, with a garage, a wood-burning fireplace, an in-unit washer and dryer and an EV charger at the resort. It is also the only condo up here that takes dogs, up to two of them, so it is the one to look at if you are browsing our pet friendly rentals and want to be slopeside.
If a condo is not the right shape for your group, the rest of the mountain is worth a look: Purgatory cabins put you in the trees, Purgatory homes and townhomes give you a whole building, and every ski-in, ski-out rental we manage sits in one place. What There Is to Do at Purgatory
Purgatory runs 1,635 acres across 107 trails on 11 lifts, with an average of about 260 inches of snow a year. The base sits at 8,793 feet and the summit at 10,822. Two things are worth knowing before you book: the resort sells no half-day tickets, and its Power Kids program gives twelve-and-under free unlimited skiing with no purchase required and no blackout dates, which changes the math on a family trip more than any lodging discount will. Lift tickets start as low as $9 on select dates.
The mountain does not close in summer. The bike park and the activity center run into early October, and a single activity ticket is $20 or a five-pack is $49 for adults and $39 for kids, which covers the alpine slide among other things. The Adaptive Sports Association has operated out of the Dave Spencer Center at the base since 1983, with full-day lessons at $295 for adults and $215 for children including the lift ticket and equipment. Everything around the resort is San Juan National Forest, so the hiking starts at the parking lot.

Are your Purgatory condos ski-in, ski-out?
Yes. Every condo on this page is listed as ski-in, ski-out, so you can reach the lifts on foot from the building rather than driving to the base.
-
Is there a resort fee for the pool and hot tub?
It depends on the unit. Edelweiss 8, Last Run and Mountain Gem list a 4% resort fee for pool, hot tub and fitness room access at the Village. Angel Haus #117 and Eolus 522 list that access without the added fee. The Amenities tab on each property page has the detail.
-
How far is Purgatory from Durango?

Can I bring my dog to a Purgatory condo?
Edelweiss 8 is the pet-friendly condo at the resort and accepts up to two dogs. If you need more pet-friendly options in the area, browse our pet friendly rentals.
-
Do the condos have air conditioning?
No. At 8,793 feet the nights cool off on their own, so these buildings were not built with it. Several units are stocked with ceiling fans or portable fans, and every condo has central or in-unit heating for the cold half of the year.
-
Is there a washer and dryer in the condo?
In Edelweiss 8, Last Run and Mountain Gem, yes, in the unit. Angel Haus #117 uses a shared coin-operated laundry in the building. Eolus 522 does not list laundry, so plan around that if you are staying a week.

Do kids ski free at Purgatory?
Twelve and under ski free and unlimited under the resort's Power Kids program, with no purchase required and no blackout dates. Confirm the current season's terms with the resort before you build a trip around it.

A 50% deposit if your arrival date is more than 60 days away. If your reservation falls within 60 days, full payment is due at the time of booking.
-
How do I check in?
Self check-in at the condo with a door code or a lockbox, so there is no front desk stop. Your guest information sheet with the address and access codes is emailed before arrival, once your balance is paid in full and your rental agreement is signed.

A slopeside condo books on a different calendar than a house in town, and the resort fee structure makes the owner economics different too.
