Where are your cabins in Durango, Colorado located?

Our cabins are located in three main areas. Five are north of Durango along US-550 near Purgatory Resort, including one at Electra Lake. Seven are east of town on County Roads 240 and 501 toward Vallecito Lake and Lemon Reservoir, including one in Bayfield. One cabin is a short drive from downtown Durango. Guests can filter properties by area when searching available cabins.

Do I need four-wheel drive to reach a cabin in winter?

During winter, we strongly recommend all-wheel drive with chains available or four-wheel drive. This is especially important for cabins located along the US-550 corridor toward Purgatory Resort. Roads are plowed regularly and driveways are cleared after significant snowfall. Some cabins require four-wheel drive, and guests are notified in advance when applicable.

Do any of the cabins have a hot tub?

Yes. Six cabins feature private hot tubs that are not shared with other guests. Four cabins also include a fire pit.

Do the cabins have air conditioning?

Most of our cabins do not have air conditioning, as summer temperatures in the Durango high country typically cool naturally in the evenings. However, two cabins do offer air conditioning.

How big is the largest cabin, and how small is the smallest?

Aspen Grove is our largest cabin with five bedrooms and accommodations for up to fourteen guests. Rio Cabana and Cottage on the Creek are our smallest cabins, each offering one bedroom and space for two to three guests.

When is the best time to book a cabin in Durango?

Summer and the peak fall foliage season in late September and early October are the most popular booking periods and tend to fill up first. Winter is generally quieter outside the holiday season and is a great time to enjoy Durango's winter activities.

Where Our Durango Cabins Sit

The cabins fall into three pockets, and which one you pick changes the trip. North on US-550 toward Purgatory you get elevation, heavy pine, and the ski area within a few miles — Electra Lake sits up this way too. East on County Roads 240 and 501 the cabins spread out toward Vallecito Lake and Lemon Reservoir, which is the quieter half of the county and the better half if you came for water. How and where do I check in?

You go straight to the cabin you booked and use either a door code or a lockbox. About 30 days before your stay we email a guest information sheet with the property address and access codes, once your balance is paid in full and your rental agreement is signed.
