Homeowners Linda and Chris live on site, in a separate building, and were always available to answer questions and give suggestions of things to see and do. More importantly, they were an absolute joy to visit with. The house has everything needed for an extended stay and really feels like a family farmhouse. Simple, but thoughtful at every turn. And the setting in Hidden Valley is reason enough to stay there. Three weeks just wasn't enough time to enjoy everything on offer!

Our family of 4 (two parents, two 22 year old kids) stayed in Lynda's place for 5 nights. It was great! The surroundings are beautiful. You can walk to hiking spots. 1.8 mi away is a hike (which you can also hike to) that is 20 min to a wonder waterfall. You'll hear falcons in the AM, see dear, and maybe you will be as lucky as we were to see a beautiful bear! There are multiple wonderful hangout spots on the property. A great patio, a 2 person swing under beautiful cypress trees, and more! I mean, really, it was fabulous. Also, Lynda knows the area, the hikes, the farmers markets, the neighbors, you name it. We really felt at home, at peace, and super supported. thank you Lynda! Great to meet you and Chris.

My family enjoyed staying at the beautiful and peaceful Hidden Valley Farmhaus in Durango. It was easy to find and also in a tranquil and stunning area near the Animas Mountains. Chris and Lynda let us wander through their garden and pick lettuce and kale for our salads. I especially enjoyed cooking our family meals in their well-stocked kitchen with all the windows that let in the sunlight, the views and fresh air. Both Chris and Lynda made sure we had everything we needed, and were incredibly kind to all of us. Plus they gave us some great tips for our stay in Durango. This airbnb is one of our favorites now.

Loved our stay! Home was perfect for our group of 3 couples and a great location for riding the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad and visiting Mesa Verde. Being from Alabama, we were a little concerned about not having AC but Lynda provides detailed instructions on how to keep the home cool. Chris and Lynda were friendly and helpful

The Hidden Valley Farmhouse Retreat is truly a hidden gem tucked into the mountains near Durango. Perched on the mountainside, the house and its beautiful gardens offer stunning views of a peaceful valley — the perfect place to unwind after a day of hiking, rafting, or exploring the area's many outdoor adventures.
It's clear this home is deeply loved, both in its thoughtful design and its location. It doesn't just feel like a place to sleep; it feels like a true mountain home you're lucky to experience.

Our family of four enjoyed 10 days at Chris and Lynda's comfortable and quiet home. We could not have been more happy with the location of the home in a beautiful and very quiet valley close to downtown Durango. Trails for hiking and biking and Junction Creek are close by. We have been coming to Durango for years and this was our best visit so far. Lynda and Chris spoiled us with eggs from their hens and honey from their bees and wonderful conversation around the firepit in the evening. We would definitely stay again and hope to keep in touch with our lovely hosts

Our stay at Lynda's place was wonderful. She was nearby while we were there but a welcome friendly hello and some great short conversation was offered. Not at all too much or too little. She was so kind to allow us to explore the property with her garden and fish. It was the perfect place to stay with our family. We had a great iron horse bike race weekend, with a peaceful retreat to provide the perfect balance. Thank you Lynda!!

We had a wonderful stay in Durango. The property was clean, comfortable, and full of character, making it feel both unique and welcoming. The setting was beautiful and peaceful—far enough from town to enjoy the quiet and scenery, yet close enough that getting into Durango was quick and easy.
One of the highlights was the property itself and the surrounding landscape, which provided a relaxing atmosphere throughout our stay. The hosts were exceptionally kind, responsive, and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed. We would gladly stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Durango area

Lynda's home was absolutely gorgeous. The setting can't be beat. She was so welcoming and gracious, and was extremely responsive. She brought us fresh eggs from her chickens and special cookies from a local bakery. By far the warmest host we've ever had. And- very comfortable beds which is such a rare find. I highly recommend Lynda's home!

We loved our stay at Lynda and Chris' beautiful place! It was the perfect location— far enough outside of town to feel connected to nature, while also being just a quick drive to Main St. Lynda and Chris were so friendly and helpful. They made us feel right at home. The house has everything you need— they really have thought of everything! They even left a welcome basket (good coffee!) and fresh tomatoes from their garden. Our family of four had plenty of room and we all loved watching the birds and deer right outside the front door. We can't wait to go back!
