All About the Durango Farmers’ Market

When and Where

Returning once again in the spring, the Durango Farmers’ Market schedule begins May 14, 2016, and run until October 29, 2016.  Open every Saturday during these dates from 8:00 a.m. until noon, the various vendors and craftsmen of this market will be set up in the First National Bank parking lot, 259 West 9th Street.

Products

Take your time strolling through these numerous vendor displays to find the best products to take home!  No matter what you’re searching, you’re bound to see it here; the Durango Farmers’ Market offers a varied spectrum of products, such as fresh produce, eggs, plants and flowers, fruit, herbs, breads, pastries, coffee, smoothies, and juices.  There are prepared dishes made hot for visitors, like pizza and Asian stir fry.  You can also buy creative gifts here, like handmade pottery, soaps, lotions, jewelry, and more.  Kids can have a great time here too!  Music, balloon animals, and face painting are available for young ones as well.  Countless local businesses are represented here, such as the Adobe House Farm in Durango, CO, that produces over 40 different types of crops.  Vendors are strictly local; only companies from the regions of Archuleta, Montezuma, La Plata, San Juan New Mexico, and San Juan Colorado are able to participate.

Special Events

Although the Durango Farmers’ Market is only open May through October, they do provide additional events in the off-season as well.  Every year, they host a Thanksgiving Market outside at the La Plata Fairgrounds, as well as Holiday Market in December inside the Exhibit Hall.  This is the perfect opportunity to buy gifts for your friends and family, as well as grab some delicious additions to include in your magnificent holiday meals.
