In 2025, the Durango Bluegrass Meltdown is scheduled to run from April 11 through April 13 and is shaping up to be a high-energy weekend of incredible performances suitable for the entire family. Tickets to the event can be purchased at the Animas Trading Company located at 742 Main Avenue in Durango or online in advance depending on preference. A three-day weekend pass is $140 while a Saturday only pass starts at $80 and a Sunday only pass begins at $60. Those 12 and under can enjoy the Bluegrass Meltdown experience at no cost.
What to Expect when You Attend the Durango Bluegrass Meltdown
The Durango Bluegrass Meltdown event fun gets underway on Friday with a free meltdown kick-off concert from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Head over to Ernie’s at 11th Street Station to enjoy an all-ages performance to officially open the festival in good company and don’t hesitate to grab a bite while you’re here too. Some of the performers that will be taking to the stage this evening include Goat Mafia, Colorado College Bluegrass Ensemble, and People We Know.
From 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Friday evening, the lineup includes a free contra dance experience for those who love to move and groove over at The American Legion at 878 E. 2nd Avenue. Saturday starts with a band versus band contest from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm at the Durango Elks Lodge with cash prizes available for top contenders. From 8:00 pm until 10:00 pm, festival attendees can enjoy a special evening with Hank, Pattie and the Current at the Durango Arts Center while the Durango Elks Lodge will be hosting a Barnd Dance Off from 7:30 pm until 10:00 pm. Make sure to stick around for the late night show with Stillhouse Junkies happening at the Animas City Theatre on E. College Avenue from 8:00 pm until 10:00 pm for those 21 and up. On Sunday, The Durango Arts Center will host the band contest finals as well as performances by Danny Paisley and the Southern Grass alongside Golden Shoals, Jake Leg, and Rob Ickes and Trey Hensley. Over at the Wild Horse Saloon, you can end festival fun with performances by Hank, Pattie, and the Current on Sunday.
