This gorgeous Durango rental home is tucked away on 1.3 acres of land and bordered on two sides by national forest land for ultimate privacy. The wood siding and peaked rooflines give the feel of a ski lodge, and the colors of the home blend seamlessly into the natural environment surrounding it. House your rental vehicle away from the elements in the three-car garage. Once you’ve stored your things inside, take a walk around to the side of the home, where you’ll find a generous outdoor living space. The deck features seating for the whole group around beautiful and comfortable outdoor furnishings, where you can enjoy the outdoors or a group meal. There is a grill available for a backyard feast, and a private hot tub for relaxing tense muscles after a day of fun.

Step into mountain luxury. The door to our vacation home opens on an expansive and open floor plan. The living, dining, and kitchen flow into one another and are spotlighted by plenty of natural light streaming in through walls of windows. Relax in the living area on comfortable couches and chairs and admire the mountain view while you sit by a roaring fire in the stone fireplace. Turn your gaze toward the ceiling to see the wood-panel feature on the ceiling, then turn your attention to the flat-screen TV for your favorite show. When hunger strikes, prepare a home-cooked meal in the fully equipped kitchen. Stainless steel appliances, including a wall oven, as well as plenty of counter space is available for the home chef. Make sure to use the prep sink and extra counter space of the massive island so you have some help preparing the meal. Mountain-themed bar stools mean your helpers won’t have to stand, or someone can grab a quick snack without having to set the table. Enjoy the meal in the dining area, which features seating for six, or take the meal outside to one of the outdoor dining sets. Pull up to Alpenglow at Purgatory and feel the relaxation and serenity of the mountain environment. Take a breath of fresh mountain air with your morning coffee or watch the sunset over the mountains on the balcony on the front of the Durango vacation home. A provided grill and outdoor furniture also make this balcony great for a summer cookout. At the rear of the home is beautiful mountain scenery, including a natural waterfall only steps from the home. The master bedroom on the second floor has its own balcony, and the bedrooms on the third floor have shared access to a third-floor balcony for sitting and soaking up the sun.

A staircase leads up to the front door, where you’ll step into mountain calm. The living area boasts plenty of comfortable furnishings to sink into after a long day on the slopes or out on the town for other activities. Curl up on the couch and warm up by the fire or watch a movie or TV show on the wall-hung flat screen TV over the fireplace. Floor to ceiling windows, including two sliding glass doors leading to the front balcony, let in plenty of natural light. The chefs in the group will appreciate stainless steel appliances, plenty of cupboard storage space, and a fully equipped kitchen for making delicious home-cooked meals. A large kitchen island holds a sink, plenty of prep area, and a raised bar with seating for four. Enjoy the meal at the large wood dining table spotlighted by a contemporary chandelier and seats six. For a different vibe, take some time on the third-floor loft. Sit in the comfortable furnishings and something on the wall-mounted flat screen TV or play some games together.

When the day is done or you need a quick nap before another adventure, retreat to a private bedroom. The master bedroom is on the opposite side of the second floor from the living area and features a king bed. A small sitting area is a great place to read and relax or watch your favorite TV show on the flat screen TV. For cold winter evenings, the gas log fireplace will add extra warmth and light, but when the weather’s nice you’ll want to step outside and enjoy the patio. Getting ready in the morning is a breeze in the decadent master bathroom. You’ll enjoy getting ready in the beautiful frameless shower stall, or relaxing tired muscles in the separate soaking tub. A double-sink vanity means each person has their own space to get ready, and the separate toilet room means the other facilities are available at the same time. Both guest bedrooms feature queen beds and en suite bathrooms with tub/shower combo and single-sink vanities. These bedrooms also share access to the balcony from their own sliding glass door entrance. There’s a space for everyone when the sleeper sofa in the loft area of the third floor is converted to a full-size bed!
