We welcome you and your family to relax in our comfortable 4 bedroom 3 1/2 bath home featuring professionally decorated, high end, rustic mountain finishes and easy/convenient access to the San Juan Mountains, Silverton, Ouray and Durango. Located just minutes from Purgatory Ski Resort and 28 miles from downtown Durango, there is plenty to do in this mountain paradise. This home sits on 1.3 acres tucked in the forest for privacy. National forest borders 2 sides of this home, perfect for exploring.
It is mandatory when booking this property for any stays between Thanksgiving and March 31st that you have
4 Wheel Drive or All Wheel Drive with snow tires or all terrain tires with good tread or chains. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Our goal is to make your stay in our luxury home worry free. This four bedroom home is thoughtfully appointed, with wood floors, (radiant in floor heat!), a stone fireplace, and lots of timber. Relax in the rustic charm in this stunning mountain getaway.
The chef of the family will appreciate the conveniences of the well-appointed kitchen, featuring stainless steel Kitchen Aid appliances. The gas cooktop and oven makes preparing meals for your special occasion as easy as ever. The kitchen is well equipped to serve your family. The open kitchen features a breakfast bar that seats 2 and a large dining table for 6. A gas grill is provided right off the kitchen and dining area on the deck.
Grab a book and curl up on the couch and enjoy the warmth of the fireplace in the living room. The living room features a large flat screen television and incredible mountain views. If you choose to remain connected with the real world, WIFI and cable television are provided. Upstairs, the kids will love the second level family retreat. The retreat has a flat screen television, DVD player and desk. The kids will enjoy having a place of their own, almost as much as the parents.
With the goal of a comfortable and restful stay, high end furnishings, linens and towels have been chosen. The master bedroom features a king sized bed and an ensuite bathroom. The 2nd master has a queen sized bed and another ensuite bathroom. The 3rd bedroom includes a set of bunkbeds, (full under twin) and a twin sized bed with a twin trundle underneath. The 4th bedroom, located on the second level is great for someone needing their own private space. It is furnished with a twin bed.
Just like home, there is a laundry room with a washer and dryer just off a 3 car garage, keeping your vehicle out of the elements.
The large deck provides enjoyable outdoor living. There are amazing views of Engineer Mountain and the Hermosa Cliffs. You are surrounded by nature and many have caught a glimpse of a bear, deer and elk. After skiing relax in the extra large hot tub!
Whatever your mountain adventure, this home provides the perfect luxury base camp, for all seasons. Go for a hike, cast a line, hit the slopes, shop in downtown Durango, or ride the train. It’s all here for your perfect mountain adventure.
This property is pet friendly (with prior approval)and the pet fee is $25/per day. We allow up to 2 dogs per stay. The maximum pet fee is $200.
Please note:
A 4WD/AWD with good tires is REQUIRED December through March. The roads are extremely well maintained, however they are on the steep side in spots and can be slick after a fresh snowstorm or when it warms up and freezes.
